Yvonne is smiling and sitting in a wooden chair on the beach. She's knitting with blue yarn and wearing a cowl knit in brioche stitch. It's a sunny day, and the waves are gently rolling to the shore.

Thanks for visiting!

My name is Yvonne! I'm the designer behind Gamer Babe Designs and a knit and crochet technical editor. I’m also the co-publisher of The Sun and Fog. My designs are inspired by different things – growing up in San Francisco, baseball, travel, a new take on a technique, anything that catches my attention.

Born and raised in San Francisco, my grandmother and mother taught me to knit, crochet, and sew when I was little. I started designing and self-publishing knit designs in 2015. My numbers and Excel background from working as an accountant and underwriter have proven invaluable in my design process and as a tech editor. Both my parents brought me to designing and tech editing in their own ways. While my mom introduced me to crafting and taught me basic craft skills, I got my love of the challenge in designing and figuring out how to make my visions work from my dad who was an electrical engineer.

Several of my designs are inspired by baseball. I've been a San Francisco Giants fan since I was 12, and I find a way to name designs after baseball players and terms. I knit and crochet while watching games no matter how challenging the pattern.
